Single-electron capture by $Al^{3+}$ ions from rare gases
Abstract
Theoretical cross sections for single-electron capture in collision of Al3+ ions with helium, neon, and argon targets have been calculated in the 10−2–2 a.u. velocity range (Elab: 0.06 keV through 2.7 MeV). Calculations have been carried out by means of semiclassical collision methods based on multireference configuration interaction potential-energy curves and nonadiabatic couplings. Partial and total cross sections are given and the obtained results agree well with the available experimental data for He and Ar targets while those for neon are considered as prediction.
